Deadnettle Blooming

I found a deadnettle blooming yesterday afternoon. It was nestled under a large fir tree, near the path that goes into the woods.

I've always loved deadnettles ... they are the underdog!
Their beautiful purple flowers are so small, they are often overlooked.

  1. Is THAT what they're called? Hmmm...I didn't know they had flowers. I need to come over to pick a mess of 'em. I'd like to plant a few little ones, dry some, make tinctures out of some and eat some.

    Mmmmm....

Gorgeous picture, Sissy--all that green does a heart good.
