Sleeping Bumblebee - Weekend Reflections

It was very early on a chilly morning when I found this bumblebee sound asleep on a thistle plant. He didn't move - even as I got up close to snap his portrait.

I immediately fell in love with his mohawk!!!

When I looked closer to admire his 'do' ... I noticed the tiny drops of 'dew' on his fur ... and the reflections of the morning in his eye ...

  1. Amazing capture! Don't think I've ever gotten quite that close to a bee -- sleeping or otherwise! Love the dewdrops! Have a great weekend!

  7. They say (in a song) if a bee lies sleeping in the palm of your hand, it means you're in love! I don't know what it means if he's sleeping on a leaf, but those are some incredibly amazing pics. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Even bees need their beauty sleep from time to time. Nice capture, btw did you see him stretch and yawn upon rousing?
