St. John's Wort

St. John's Wort, Hypericum perforatum

The St. John's Wort is blooming everywhere this year, the vibrant yellow flowers standing out amongst the surrounding weeds and grasses.

St. John's wort has been used for centuries to treat depression.

In my world ... who could be depressed when surrounded by all this delicate beauty???

How to know if you are holding a St. John's Wort flower? Crush it between your fingers. It will leave a purple stain!

  3. Hello Clytie....It's Oregontribal1 posting on your blog!! Thank you for the comment about my header; I took that picture recently while fishing with my folks and hubby out on Lost Creek Lake. I loved it so much especially with the bridge spanning over the water. Ironically, my folks have a huge hedge of St.John's Wort and I sit out there on the rock wall and just enjoy the sunshine and the fragrant flowers.....
