Visit From a Butterfly ...

Butterflies...flowers that fly and all but sing.
Robert Frost

Happiness is a butterfly,
which when pursued is just beyond your grasp,
but if you will sit down quietly,
may light upon you.
Nathaniel Hawthorne

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment it's glory and beauty
belong to our world,
but then it flies on again.;
And though we wish it could have stayed,
We feel so lucky to have seen it.

When we have done all the work we were sent to do,
we are allowed to shed our bodies,
which imprisons our soul like a cocoon encloses the butterfly
and when the time is right we can let go of it.
Then we will be free of pain, free of fears and free of worries--
free as a beautiful butterfly returning home to God....
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

  1. OOooh, Sissy. These photos not only filled my eyes, but, along with that wonderful poetry, deeply touched my heart.

    I think these photos might be the most beautiful you've taken yet. I can hardly put it into words.

  3. Hi Clytie;
    I am trying to stay cool and comfortable; and yes that is a nest on top of the snag. I tried to get "up close & personal" but alas, I was trolling in my folk's boat looking for some yummy trout to catch!
