Metro Moss Heart

Sissie and I picked a rare sunny day to go for a long walk last week.
We found beauty all along the way!
Like this amazing moss heart, found hanging from an old oak tree on the Metro (greenspace preservation) property ...

How to Manage Thorns ...

The velveteen softness of the tulip gently cradles the jagged thorns of last year's blackberry vine ...
Proving the true strength of gentleness!

Puddle Bubbles - Weekend Reflections

The rains have stopped for now ...

But that wasn't the case last week.

All of that wet stuff falling from the sky left huge puddles ...
And bubbly reflections ...

And even some random hearts!

Raindrops on Leaf ... With Heart

The wild cherry trees were drenched in raindrops last week, as was everything else in my world. I was surprised to find this little heart caught in one of the drops ...

Too Much Rain Equals Beauty!

This is my front yard by the end of the day yesterday. Seriously! We had nearly 2" of rain in less than 24 hours ... on top of months and months of drippy stuff. Sigh.

I was feeling cooped up and cranky, so I pulled out the umbrella and decided to try and find something beautiful. ANYTHING beautiful.
And look what happened ...

The Japanese Rose reflected yellow beauty into the raindrops ...

Mom's tulips were getting ready to burst forth with still more beauty!

While the raindrops on them reflected even more tulips ...

Raindrops glowed in the watery light on the Indian Plum leaves.

The rains are supposed to stop this afternoon, and we are in for a week of sunshine ... shrinking the puddles, warming the world, bringing new life to the plants ...

I suppose I will miss the beauty of the rain ...

NOT!!!

Water Drop on Plant

There was a break from the rain one afternoon this week ... my sister Beth and walked over to the abandoned church, looking for signs of spring.

There was much evidence of the recent rain ... like this water droplet nestled in a strange green plant ... reflecting the brightness of the sky.

Later that night, the rains began again, saturating my world.
Maybe tomorrow the sun will shine.
Maybe.

Cattail Fuzz!

Spring is the time when the cattails shed their seeds.
While this year's new growth nestles at the feet of the stalks ...

Sometimes the fuzz catches a ride on the wind, and ends up on the sidewalk ...

A Break From the Rain ...

I could curse the cold ... the rain ... the mud ...
But then I would miss the beauty of the heart!

Daffodils ... for LUNCH!

Just a few days ago, I finally found one beautiful daffodil that the critters hadn't munched to shreds. What a beautiful flower!

Same daffodil ... 2 days later.
Sigh.

A Springtime Walk In the Woods ...

The rain finally stopped for a while yesterday, though it was overcast and cool - Perfect for a walk to rediscover the beauty of my world!
And what discoveries I made!

Only a few insects and flowers were out ... but they seemed to go together.

This little guy startled me as I stepped across a small ravine ...

Followed closely by this tiny tree frog, who seemed happy to pose for a portrait!

Happy Spring!
